Morocco Launches “Morocco Offer” to Lead Global Green Hydrogen Power Market

Hydrogen Series

Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch unveiled a groundbreaking Directive on Monday, March 11, 2024, in Rabat, launching the “Green Hydrogen Initiative.” This strategic maneuver, born from the High Royal Directives of HM King Mohammed VI, aims to establish Morocco as a leading contender in the burgeoning global green hydrogen market.

The “Green Hydrogen Initiative” covers the entire spectrum of the green hydrogen sector, aligning with HM King Mohammed VI’s foresighted vision to exploit the Kingdom’s rich natural resources, strategic geographical positioning, and advanced infrastructure. By embracing renewable energies and fostering a conducive investment atmosphere, Morocco is poised to play a pivotal role in global energy transition endeavors.

Facilitating Investment and Ensuring Transparency

To attract investment, the State has designated one million hectares of public land, with an initial allocation of 300,000 hectares for investors. The investment framework emphasizes regular evaluations and transparent communication between the State and investors, ensuring project progression and mutual success. With nearly 100 national and international investors expressing keen interest, the “Green Hydrogen Initiative” underscores the Kingdom’s significant potential in green hydrogen production, positioning Morocco as a frontrunner in the global energy arena.
